Director of Resort Membership Sales

Job Description

 

Job Summary

Responsible for the direct and indirect sale of all resort memberships through a sales network of area realtors, custom home builders and other resources.  Implement and monitor effect sales tracking and control measures, and assist in developing marketing plans to promote each membership.

 

Job Core Work Activities

·         Promote the sale of memberships by being available to explain membership plan documents, answer membership questions regarding structure, facilities, and privileges.

·         Achieve/exceed budgeted performance goals

·         Strong relationships with internal and external resources to maintain an effective sales network

·         Timely communication with resort operational staff including golf, spa and tennis directors and other resort staff to achieve desired sales and service results

·         Provide recommendations to surpass sales and service objectives

·         Analyze trends and other information to facilitate effective decision making and problem solving

 

Job Specific Tasks

·         Sell and contract all resort memberships with various area residents and corporations

·         Develop external sales network to distribute membership material and generate leads from broker and member referral programs and maintain ongoing follow-up with contacts

·         Organize and conduct site inspections of resort facilities

·         Conduct sales calls to area realtors, home builders, condominium complexes, and other local corporations and organizations

·         Prepare correspondence and handle telephone calls to prospective members, including follow-up referrals obtained from current members, owners, and personnel   of the company and communicate sales activity and results to Directors

·         Negotiate, administer, and complete all membership contracts/documents required for the sale of memberships

·         Ensure all accounting procedures and functions are carried out according to the brand’s standard operation procedures

·         Communicate with resort Director of Finance on any credit or billing concerns

·         Compile and maintain statistical data on membership sales and availability on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis to include: New Members, perspective members, declined opportunities, resigned members, and financial reports.

·         Issues membership identification items and communications throughout resort on new members

·         Work directly with the various departments throughout the resort to monitor, communicate and assist in resolving issues pertaining to the service delivery of any resort membership components

·         Assist in preparation and implementation of effective advertising and marketing strategy with resort Marketing team; club newsletters, member correspondence, media releases, members surveys, and any other relevant member communications

·         Assist in planning and coordinating events relating to membership sales and existing membership programs

·         Coordinate activities with golf, spa and tennis management

·         Attend member events and activities

·         Adhere to all standard policies and procedures

·         Demonstrate knowledge of all computer activities and functions

·         Manage reciprocal agreements with internal and external golf facilities

 

Candidate Profile

·         Minimum three years of membership sales experience

·         Effective self and team management skills required

·         Hotel, golf and/or spa operational knowledge preferred


Details regarding the position:

Base salary = $45,000 to $60,000 based on experience

Commission/Incentive = up to 6.5% of initiation fees
