The Golf Club of Avon, situated in Avon, CT and located in the beautiful Farmington Valley, is seeking a dynamic Membership Director to develop and implement membership programs and activities to increase and retain members at Avon. The Membership Director will also focus on the Club’s brand and communication plan and programs.  The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for all aspects of membership sales, recruitment, retention and communication
  • Be the Club’s public representative in the community
  • Work with Club committees
  • Drive growth in revenues in events, outings and member usage
  • Be a key employee in the Club’s organizational structure

The Golf Club of Avon is a family-oriented, private country club with 27 holes of golf, an extensive short game and practice facility, a new $2.2 million aquatic facility, eight har-true tennis courts, three platform tennis courts and a 38,000 square foot clubhouse with an active membership.  You may view more information about the Club at www.golfclubofavon.com.

This is a new position for the Club and the Membership Director will report directly to the GM/COO. 

Qualifications, Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field.
  • A minimum of six years of experience in sales, marketing, public relations, management or related fields.
  • High level sales background a plus.
  • Private club experience a plus.
  • Not for profit organization experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated effective supervisory, organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated outstanding interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written skills; effective group presentation ability.
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.  Must include Excel, Publisher, Word and Power Point; demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality and a high degree of integrity.
  • Experience with sales tracking software such as “LeadTrack” is a plus.

 

Compensation package based on experience, but will be a base salary plus commission on member sales and new event bookings.
